Couples in idealizing and idealized transferences will find this game more natural. When the idealizing partner plays the slave and the idealized partner the master, they will feel a bit embarrassed since it hits so close to the truth of their situation. However, when they reverse roles, both may have an even harder time playing the game. This is also true when a couple with a twinship transference plays it. Those prone to identifying themselves solely as masters (always dwelling in the grandiose or idealized mode) will find it difficult to accept an inferior role, and those prone to identifying themselves as inferior (and worshipful of their superior partners) will have difficulty tolerating feelings of superiority. However, by playing this game again and again, and dealing with the uncomfortable feelings that arise, the reversal of roles will get easier, sparking a fresher, more equal, more emotional relationship.
